Rare Vintage Imperial Natural Jade Spinach Green Lantern & Pedestal The lantern has four faces with 2 pairs of designs carved into the Jade. One pair of matching sides features a dragon carved in low relief that is contained by two circles featuring a spiraling design. The corners of these sides feature a scrolling floral jade design attached to their face. The other paired design features a pierced carved floral design that is shaped into an oval. The lantern itself imitates a Chinese building with its roof style. The lantern fits on a 2 piece pedestal. The middle column of the pedestal has four Jade carvings coming off of the rectangular stand. These carvings feature a matching dragon at the bottom and this dragons tail spirals into a sprawling design. The base of the stand is a square Jade piece with four attached Jade feet. The 2 pieces of the pedestal are attached securely to one another, At the top of the pedestal stand there is parts of the jade that has been painted a matching green color. There is chipping / wear throughout the piece. It appears that it was used as a lawn ornament and exposed to weather. The corners of the second tier of the roof on one side have broken off. One corner still has the original broken off Jade piece and the other corner has been repaired with a moldable substance + painted to match and has since been rebroken. This item has been appraised, the appraisal sheet can be seen in the last photo. This piece came from an estate of a former CEO and founder of a tech company. The pieces all attach by a threaded metal screw. The lantern does not open.
