This listing is for an extraordinary, vintage Egyptian Revival necklace with turquoise and coral colored enamel and faux coral and lapis scarab cabochons. This is an amazing piece. Egyptian Revival statement jewelry such as this were a big thing in the fashion world during the late 1960s and early to mid 1970s. It’s a little difficult to find information on this piece as it isn’t signed, but I have found several other listings for this piece and most are priced over $200 so it’s my belief that this is from a high end designer. It’s quality and appearance certainly suggest so. Overall the necklace is in excellent vintage condition.It shows a little bit of wear or fading to the gold plated chain, but this is extremely mild and the pendant is in near-pristine condition. Under the magnification of a jeweler’s loop, I can see a few speck in the enamel where an air bubble left a tiny defect and a few slight places where the enamel bleeds a tad over a line, but these are near microscopic. It’s a little hard to measure the exact length because the pendant is wide and the chain is attached on the outer edges so the width of the pendant gets incorporated into the length. I’ll list the lengths of the chain and the width of the space between where they are attached at the top of the pendant. The chain length is 9.5 inches on each side, and the pendant width at the top is 1.5 inches (measured from the inner sides of the chain) which makes the necklace fit like an 20.5 inch necklace. However, the pendant is very large and long, so this necklace takes up far more space on the chest. The pendant measured from the very top to the bottom of the dangles is 3 inches. The widest part of the pendant is 3.25 inches. The pendant is plated in a rich yellow gold, with vibrant enameled colors. This is such an outstanding piece of vintage fashion that words don’t do it justice so be sure to examine all the photos and use the zoom feature for a better idea of details and condition, and I would be happy to answer any questions you might have.
