5 Needlepoint Etch Optic Ripple Antique Wine Glasses Bryce / Fostoria Beautiful antique glasses with a hard-to-find etch pattern: a broad, lacy swirled band around a lovely optically fluted bowl. This style of pantograph etching and chalice shape was very popular from the 1900’s through 30’s. These goblets are reliably dated to 1915 or earlier because of the presence of manganese in their content, making them an amazing 108 years old! They would add a beautiful, heirloom look to a special occasion table. Attributed to either Bryce or Fostoria. (Note: Manganese is a safe, non-toxic element that was used in clear glass recipes until it was diverted for WWI use. It glows green under 365 UV light like uranium glass, but is not uranium glass, though it is often confused with it. These glasses have an absolutely gorgeous effect under 365 UV and what a conversation piece! To enjoy the full effect of the lacy glow, 365nm flashlights can be obtained inexpensively online. If you collect uranium glass, don’t sleep on the clear manganese glass!) Excellent vintage condition, no chips or cracks. Wear commensurate with light use and good care over ~100 years; some light, hard to notice surface scratches. Clean, hand washed and ready to use. Shipped quickly and packed with great care. Shipping is generated by the post office based on your actual location, and we do not mark it up. Default shipping is US Ground; a faster but a bit more expensive option – US Priority Mail- is also available when checking out, if you prefer. (Note: there is a 6th glass with a chip to the foot we can include free of charge; it’s been diamond-filed smooth and is perfectly usable, but it’s a significant flaw so we didn’t include it in the pricing or listing. Because we love vintage items, we pack glassware with the utmost of care, with multiple layers of bubble wrap, additional padding, and Fragile stickers. Breakage has been very, very rare, less than 1% of our shipments. However, we can’t prevent rough handling, machine damage, or misdirection once the shipping service has it in their hands. Packages are insured for their sold price, excluding shipping costs, and all refunds due to breakage will be divided by the number of items in the package (i.e. no full refunds for one item broken out of a set.) Absolutely let us know if this happens! We will need photos of the broken item(s), packing and packaging before any insurance claim or refund. Note: we don’t control shipping costs.
