VISIT MY eBAY STORE TO SEE SETS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. ** ** The 1967-78 Eldorado wheel covers are unique in the car world…..they are designed to fit over the wheel rim that has a huge offset due to the front wheel drive design. Therefore NO other front or rear wheel drive hubcaps will ever work on the Eldo…just the original factory ones.** WHEEL COVER RATING CONDITION: Grade A levels= Pretty Good (A–), Very Good Condition (A-) / Near Excellent or Excellent (A/A- or A) / Show Quality (A+). Grade B levels (Driver Grade Level) = Average condition/fair condition (B-, B) / Good shape (B+) / Pretty Good (B++). All “B” Grades will have more visible damage than any “A” Grade.. Ratings are based on the physical condition of the metal, not paint (if applicable). COMPATABILITY: 1967-1978 (Fits all 1967-78 Eldorado FWD rims ONLY). ITEM DETAILS: This auction is for FIVE wheel covers. THREE of them are in the “B++” grade zone and the other TWO are “B+”. Essentially they are in the mid and high portion of the “Good” Zone (which is not considered Very Good or Excellent). Put the latter ones on the rear of your Eldorado if you have a 1971-74 (Since they have skirts, which cover a good portion of the wheel cover). PICTURE NOTES: Pics were taken outdoors on a mostly sunny morning (and a few indoors). PHYSICAL CONDITION: Mid level “B” wheel covers will have lower prices than higher “A” grades but they also have more damage….Definitely these are a “budget priced” set of covers. They can still offer glances of being decently presentable when standing a good 10 feet away from the car, but upon close inspection you will see some flaws as noted below. I do not consider them to be Very Good or Excellent. Regarding damage – These 5 are very close in over all condition, since they are adjacent ranking groups. Each wheel cover will have: – A perimeter outer rim, with a fair amount of hammer/mallet taps. – Very Good or Great Spokes.- Excellent or Near Excellent Center Faces – this is the part that you see the most of.- Perhaps Crown Edges with curb scrap/rashing lines but not flattened.- A Center emblem in “decent” condition with refreshed factory colors. These are 50+ years old wheel covers that have definitely seen some road time but still have some miles left on them. Very decent shine to all of them~! As a general rule, damage on any B-Level wheel cover can be hammer taps or curb rashing/scratches, storage scratches on the Crown Face, metal wobble from some sort of impact, stone dings, paint fade or peel, etc. A quick assessment is below (Assume that everything on the wheel cover is between GOOD-TO-EXCELLENT Condition except for what is noted). Stock # Grade Note 1910A3 B++ Multiple hammer dings/taps around Outer Rim. Rashing scratches on Outer Crown (right side, left side is great). Some rot in the backing frame. Great Center Face. 2403T1 B++ Multiple hammer taps/dings around Outer Rim. Stone nicking / faint dings on Outer Crown Edges. Great Center Face. 1702D1 B+ Multiple hammer taps/dings (30+) around Outer Rim. Aside from the taps, the rest of the body metal is nearly Excellent. Scratch across emblem center. It has some rot in backing frame, doesn’t impact mounting. 2403T1 B++ Multiple hammer taps/dings (20+) around Outer Rim. Aside from the taps, the rest of the body metal is nearly Excellent. 1 ding on the Crown Edge. 2407N4 B+ * This is the Emergency Spare*. Put it on your spare tire until a moment comes that it’s needed. Multiple hammer taps/dings (30+) around Outer Rim. Aside from the dings, the rest of the body metal is Very Good. Faint crease lines (2) to the lower right of the center emblem. As mentioned before, this wheel cover (my opinion) goes on properly but doesn’t grip as tightly as I would want – therefore use it sparingly. WHY FIVE?: There is the main set of 4 and the 5th one I am calling an “emergency spare”. Wheel Cover #5, in my opinion, doesn’t stay of a wheel rim tight enough for my standards….I would not use it on a highway or a roadway with potholes. Maybe you can adjust the clips better so that it’s more snug to the rim. It goes on perfectly fine, but comes off a bit easy. Put in on your spare tire and make your trunk look nicer! And if you ever lost a wheel cover on the way to a car show, at least you have a temporary spare to put on. The wheel covers were test mounted on an Eldorado rim and fit decently. Mounting tabs are also neutral adjusted as well. All of my wheel covers have been professionally cleaned to remove tar, oils, road grime, brake dust, etc. A dirty and stinky wheel cover will NOT be coming your way!
